I think it's highly recommended to download the offline map to your phone at the beginning of the trail. Some road marks are broken or missing. It is easy to go the wrong direction. Trails are easy to identify. But some gates are confusing. The first gate is closed but not locked. I thought I was not allowed to pass until others opened the gate and passed through. The last gate near the peak is locked. However, people fence over through the left side. It is medium to hard level. 80% of the journey are mild. However, there's still a small portion of the path that has an abrupt surge. Something like a 30-degree slope hill. Trekking pole would help you from having an injured knee. Remember to bring enough water with you and keep hydrated. I'm lucky that it is cloudy that day. There's almost 0 shade along the path. I started my trip around 11am and completed at 3pm. There are almost no people there. I came across less than 20 people in the whole journey. Fees: 6 USD dollars Restrooms: At the beginning of the trail

Its extremely dry, without any shade at all. I hiked it when it was cooler and still felt the heat. Carry lots of water, shade and hiking poles. Chances are you might spot a coyote or two. I did not see a single human on my entire hike!!

Really nice hike, steep at parts and also minimal shade. LONG PANTS RECOMMENDED: If you want to do a full loop, you will have some parts where you are pushing back brush. Dog friendly and great views at the top - bring your own water! Fees: $6 park entrance when you drive in. Restrooms: Yes Dog-friendliness: Yes, dog friendly on all trails north of the lake!
