While I am certain there are good and well trained members in this company, this is the second negative experience Ive had and by far the worst. The technician (will withhold the name here) claimed during his diagnostic that our differential pressure switch and induced draft motor needed to be replaced which was causing the issue with our furnace (we have an HVAC system, 9 years old, installed by previous owners through Lees, hence contacted them). We were quoted at a hair over $1800 for the repairs (roughly $550 for the switch and >$1260 for the motor, mind you these parts can purchased for about $150-160 total). He initially spoke with my wife and claimed that he was concerned about the heat exchanger being worn and stressed and told my wife that it could crack at anytime causing carbon monoxide to be released which would be harmful to our family and children. Obviously my wife, being stressed asks about what the next steps would be. He stated that replacing the exchanger would be about $8000, and in total we would be paying roughly $10000. This led to my wife asking the cost of a new system, which he stated was beginning at $20000 depending on the type. He stated replacing the whole thing now would save us money in the future. When speaking to me after over the phone, he mentioned the same story but changed carbon monoxide to combustion materials being released which isnt good for the family. He stated he would only quote us for the initial two times needing to be replaced. If the heat exchanger was truly an issue, it should have been replaced . Why, if it is so worrisome and we elect against it, how are the safe guards or mechanisms functioning? and are those fail safes ok? What steps should we take to prevent poisoning? Nothing else was mentioned regarding safety concerns. , so hence the unit must have been in good working order. Everything else was good according to the tech. This is failure on a professional for not appropriately educating someone being a health care professional and former small business manager, this type of explanation is fear directed. Fear mongering tactics are sick. I called a different company for a second opinion and it turns out it was a gunked burner sensor; once cleaned, everything operated smoothly and efficiently. No issue was found with switch or motor, and the heat exchanger had a normal wear pattern expected for a unit. Mind you, this issue only started two days prior (and hardly ran given it was automatically shutting off, besides the point). I paid only for the diagnostic. Thank you Albritton for honest and professional service. This technician either was the following: poorly trained, inexperienced, haphazard , or lazy, or was trying to up charge a product. Not sure how it went from $2000 to $10000 (fyi, heater exchanger for Goodman could range up to $1000, thats expensive labor, besides the point) , to a new system to $85 (including lees poorly done diagnostic fee of $99, total spent was $184). I strongly recommend to avoid this business or if it is one that you elect to choose, do the due diligence for a second and third opinion. Its worth the cost of the diagnostic compared to Lees.

Lee's Air, Plumbing, and Heating has been amazing to work with. Jose Rivera is who has serviced our A/C and heating. He has been absolutely amazing! His customer service and knowledge is above and beyond. He explained in detail how our system works and what would help keep it running smoothly.
