image I lived here for an year and now that I've experienced other apartments... I realize how the management at 416 was so unhelpful, and even hostile towards their residents... They literally towed my car for parking for a few hours at the future resident spot without a warning (the signage was unclear which part of the guest parking was designated for future residents only). When I asked about it at the office they just shrugged it off and told me that I just got unlucky on the towing day.
They also swallowed our deposit with a huge miscommunication. When I was moving out, an inspector came in and told us that we don't have to take out the trash. So I assumed it's a complimentary service or something, but when we finally moved out, their maid charged us the entire security deposit plus $$$, itemizing how much trash bags they had to take out.
Raised this to the management but they asked if I knew the inspector's name (why would I know) and didn't do anything about it.

I saw the owner's comment so I'm adding a few information.
To be fair, It was "years" ago so the management might have improved/changed since.
The trash bag count was written under a hefty clean up(? can't remember exactly) category or something. We did clean up the house back then but just left the trash bags in the living room only because I was told I don't have to and was pretty hyped about it. It would have been an EASY job to just take them out if I only knew they didn't mean it's a free service :( The management didn't even care to listen to the reason why I'd done such thing to lose all my security deposit. So we ended up paying what they ask for. (cause we both were like 24 years old and were afraid.)
And about the towed car, I had to deal with everything myself. The management gave me the address to the towing company at least. However I had to find my ride there (some LA area that was far away) and paid $300+ to get the car back.
Even if they needed the spaces for the actual future residents, this apartment has a whole lot of guest parking spaces which are never full, so they just did it out of pure grumpiness. >:(
Who just does that without a single warning? against their own customers? just for causing some possible discomforts for their future customers? (I heard the 3 blocks were designated to future residents and thought they meant 3 spaces, and later realized it was 3 blocks of 2 spaces so 6 spaces.) They could have given me a warning note or a residents email/text messages asking to move the car first like all the other kind apartments do.

We hoped to reach out to you directly to see how we could help but were unable to locate you in our database. You mentioned living here years ago so this also may have been before current management took over. Prior to move out we give every resident moving out detailed instructions on how to avoid charges to their security deposit and it is not our practice to count the number of trash bags removed from an apartment; our billing is based on a standard hourly rate. Additionally, our future resident parking is very clearly marked, and we would never dismiss a resident whose vehicle was towed. Although towing is sometimes necessary to ensure the businesses in our building have parking for their customers, we do our best to avoid it by tagging vehicles that are inappropriately parked and are always compassionate and as helpful as possible to anyone impacted by non-compliance with our parking policies. Again, we’re sorry you had this experience. If this review was intended for us, please do contact the leasing office at (818) 265-1700. image Absolutely wonderful place. I have lived here since June of 2021 and will be sadly leaving soon due to a change in commute. Like all things there are pros and cons but overall I'd rather live here than most apartment complexes in LA.
Pros:
- Great team (always a pleasure interacting with Josh, Andrew, and the maintenance crew)
- Relatively decent pricing for being walking distance to Brand/Central Americana etc
- Quiet community. My specific neighbors are wonderful and respectful. I've only had a couple issues (see cons)
- Pets are really welcome here and the complex keeps the small pet relief area clean. Either my neighbors are great at picking up after themselves or the complex is doing it because I rarely run into someone else's mess.
- Decent wall insulation compared to most large buildings. I rarely hear my neighbors via through ceiling or wall.
- Parking was historically included in rent and spaces were large. Garage felt safe and gate broke only once that I can think of.
Cons:
- For luxury prices you are getting older appliances etc. That said, I believe they have remodeled the units to fix this. (comes with a huge price hike)
- Not very proactive at enforcing the smoke-free clause of the leases. I don't personally care but I know that is a must for some.
- No dog breed restrictions. A prior neighbor had some sort of pit mix that was hyper aggressive. I haven't seen the neighbor or the dog in awhile so I assume they moved. Not all pits are bad but that breed certainly requires a bit more diligence as a pet owner.
- Not much in the way of community events. Without a pool this complex doesn't really draw much of the crowd that would be interested in such events so maybe this is also a pro?
- Units seem to retain a LOT of heat. This could be a good thing if you like to be warm but my bedroom will often be high 70s low 80s during the day regardless of it being 70s outside (windows open or not). Not a huge issue but it means you'll be running the AC more often.
