Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve

Call me old, but I remember as a kid we used to drive out onto the beach from Main St. We could drive south to point sal and north to pismo and beyond. We would go out there to go Surf Fishing. But now you can't access the beach by vehicle from here anymore. I am sure many people think this is good but to me and my siblings, it is just one more thing that Environmentalists have taken away from the people.

Closed on 4/1 and still on 4/20? Being a frequent visitor I'm wondering what happened that they can't seem to clear the road?

Nice quiet and clean beach. Not many people there. Very small parking lot. It's been closed since the rain storm. Don't know when they will be open again.

The road to the park has been washed away by the recent floods so you cannot access the park, by car at least. There's nothing anyone can do about that, but there is no indication of this on any website so you won't find out until you are 5 minutes away... Went to Oceano Dunes instead, which ended up being fine for us.
