Amazing value and service. The movers worked so hard, and they were so courteous. This is our second time moving with them and we couldn't be happier. They did a great job taking care of all our fragile furniture, were very careful with my belongings. I would highly recommend FlatRate Moving!

A truly terrible move experience. We paid them to pack, move and unbox our items and they did each part quite badly. They packed random things together and broke half of our china. They put cleaning chemicals with food, fragile glass with wooden boxes. When moving, they banged up the walls, scuffed the floors and damaged our furniture. They also REFUSED to unpack our boxes and said they were too busy. I wish I had just sold my furniture and started fresh vs. using this awful company. Customer service is also non-existent and hangs up on you

It took about 4 hours to move a one-bedroom apartment which I thought was pretty good. This is a really hard job and super labor intensive. In terms of my bigger pieces of furniture, I think they did a good job. However, a lot of things went wrong. When I spoke to someone on the phone to coordinate this move I was told that it was best if we moved our plants ourselves, but they could help us bring them downstairs for us and that they could help bring down any unwanted items and help to disassemble. Knowing that, I moved all of my plants myself and only asked for help with two of my larger plants. They broke both of the plants before they even left my apartment door. I also asked them to help disassemble the bedframe and bring it downstairs so I could dispose of it. After the move I went back into the apartment and saw they just left the entire bedframe not broken down in the apartment. So I had to go back that evening and disassemble it and take it down to the garbage. They also just put all my boxes in one place even though they were all labeled as to where they should go in my new place and didn't move a few items upstairs that I explicitly asked them for help with. They also didn't communicate pricing at the time of payment when the move was over, so my partner didn't realize that the cash price was $10 cheaper/hour and she ended up paying the credit card price. I also noticed a month later that a $100 was still charged to my card even though it was just meant as a hold. I only just noticed this yesterday so hopefully it will be resolved.

I used FlatRate to move from a storage unit to California. A few days before my things arrived in CA, I got an email saying that the movers in NYC had left my couch behind in the storage unit! My couch is the biggest item in the storage unit next to my bed… They offered no explanation as to why this happened, and they offered nothing to remedy this. They said they would expedite shipping it, but it was nearly a month later before it arrived in CA. Between this time, they consistently failed to follow up and provide updates when they said they would, and instead I had to be the one the follow up every step of the way. I was told different delivery windows from different people and even got email conformation about one, but they kept pushing it back without warning (the only reason I knew it changed was because I called them, not the other way around). Then, just like the day of my actual move in, I was told I would receive a call an hour before their arrival and instead, I got a call saying the movers are outside giving me no advance heads up. I did receive one email saying that they would provide a credit for the inconvenience but just like the rest of this experience, no one has followed up to follow through. There are clearly major internal communication issues in this company. I still don’t understand how they managed to leave a whole couch behind, but a mistake like that should have been thoughtfully reconciled and instead it was a battle every step of the way.
