We (3) spent 8 unforgettable days here. Unbeatable location, cleanliness, and attention. Excellent value if you book early and for long. Free parking is a plus in the area, though it keeps the staff busy valeting! Thank you for making our stay a cherished memory!

This is is a nice little hotel with large rooms, nicely furnished, and only steps from the beach. Literally. It's not 5 Star in terms of high-end, but in terms of what you get for your money. There's no gym, no restaurant, ball room, room service or view. The first time I stayed threw me off. There's no grand entry. Just a sliding door to the elevator and stairs. Upstairs there's a small check-in counter, and the owner's family lives in the apartment behind it. Ring the bell for assistance. Once checked in, you'll find the rooms are modern and comfortable. I get a king, which comes with a desk, chairs ottoman, wet bar, and a fridge. For me, the big thing is the location. Walk out the door and turn right, and you are literaly steps from the beach. First you pass a small beach rental business, then an awesome little Mexican restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Really casual, has a patio out back. Good service, and margaritas, too. Inexpensive to boot! There's a tiny park, and you are on the Strand. One block up is Pier Avenue, the economic center of Hermosa Beach. Lots of bars and restaurants, live music, shopping and more. Walk about 2 miles south to the Redondo Beach Pier, or 2 miles north to Manhattan Beach. This is our go-to when in Hermosa Beach. BTW, they've got this kind of shiny grey textured tile, which looks great, accept that they found out that it stains easily. I thought it was dirty and even tried cleaning it myself, but it seems permanent. The area is surrouned by over-priced places with ocean views, but for the money, I'll just walk outside for my view. I don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Get out there and enjoy! Rooms: Large, modern Nearby activities: Walk, jog or bike the Strand (bike rental about a block away), rent a boogie board next door, public beach volleyball nets, live music, shopping Safety: It's a safe area. I saw a few homeless guys but there are no camps. Those are a couple of miles away in Venice Beach. Walkability: Flat, easily walkable. Small hill up Pier Ave, with more restaurants and shops Food & drinks: Many bars and restaurants nearby. Hennessey's Tavern has great happy hour. Noteworthy details: Outside of the rooms, there's not much else in terms of hotel amenities, but everything you need is close by.

You're 100% paying for the location and nothing else. Great location, but otherwise everything is mediocre. Pretty large gap from the doors to the ground, which made it relatively noisey for an otherwise quiet place.

We booked that room for $149 / night amd it was worth every penny. You can't beat the location.
