My wife and I stayed here for one night and it was great. Room was clean and we had a cool view of the pacific. Love that the windows could open and let the air in. Check-in was easy and they let us check-in early which was great. Restaurant service was kind of slow -- we ordered a beer and a coffee with kahlua at the bar and it took like 10 minutes which feels pretty objectively long for simple drinks. Location couldn't be better -- walking distance from the beach and great restaurants nearby. We'd recommend Cody's for breakfast.

We arrived a little before 3 pm for check-in, and to our surprise, they graciously accommodated our early arrival by upgrading us to a room on the fourth floor with an ocean view, instead of the standard two queen beds. From the valet service to the hotel check-in, their professionalism and service were exceptional. The staff greeted us by name with friendly demeanors, which made us feel very welcome. While the room wasn't as spacious as we had anticipated, it was well-appointed with everything we needed: two queen beds, a walk-in closet, a small refrigerator stocked with sodas and bottled water, and a coffee maker. We were delighted with the stunning ocean view from our room. The room temperature was just right, and the hotel's location near La Jolla Cove meant that everything was within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and it was evident that my sister, who is a frequent visitor, was recognized and appreciated by the hotel staff.

Disappointed. This hotel has potential but needs an update. For what we paid for a junior ocean view suite it was a letdown. The images on the website show better than what you see in person. It looks like an ocean view has a direct ocean view. Instead, there are lots of buildings and an ocean view in the background. It looks like it's closer to the ocean than it is. Though the ocean is a block away. On the positive side. The junior suite is large. Bathrooms are more updated and have quality amenities. Beds are comfy. Lobby seating area is old world chic. Complete with a fireplace. Location is perfect. When windows are closed it's quiet. But when you open.the windows to get fresh ocean air it's quite noisy. Also. The restaurant NINETEN is amazing. but you can go there without staying at this hotel

The staff is wonderful- incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. Additionally, the hotel itself is lovely along with the rooms. It is a true independently owned boutique hotel that I will frequent again many times in the future.
