        Just closed on a Home and Lago Escrow was our escrow company. They answered all our questions in a timely manner and helped answer any questions we had. Our proceeds were ready to be picked up the very next day.

        I am a lender and closed a loan on December 20th using Lago Escrow. It is now February 4th and my borrower has YET to receive his funds he was supposed to have received at closing, and the debt that was supposed to have been paid for this borrower at closing was never paid! Maria De La Cruz has changed her story numerous times as to why she has not released the funds to the borrower. She stated that they dont cut checks just because. Excuse me? The borrower was OWED this money at closing, my company PAID these funds to Lago Escrow and Maria has refused to disburse them correctly. After giving the excuse above, then it was, the check was returned in the mail, then, the check was just sent out 3 days ago, now today, she tells my borrower that she will overnight it?! Consumers BEWARE- shady, shady, SHADY.
