In spite of not communicating with his clients, Mr. Humphrey takes no issue with appearing in their court proceedings without his clients knowledge. Ive never met a less-professional attorney. TL,DR; if my husband had a DIFFERENT lawyer, he would be free right now. Instead hes serving 22 years for a crime that carries 5 years. (a crime that he didnt do)
First time Mr Humphrey represented my husband, my husband was advised to plead guilty on a crime he did not commit, based on how a jury would perceive his gang tattoos. AKA: Mr. Humphrey didnt feel like working, its pro bono, after all.
Me and my husband have been waiting almost 2 YEARS for his opportunity to appear before the judge again. He has served his base term already so we were hoping an opportunity to appear in front of the judge. Last week, we received a letter saying Mr. Humphrey appeared in court for my husband several weeks ago and claimed my husband waived his right to appear in court. My husband did not even know this court date was scheduled until we received a letter in the mail saying Russell Humphrey claimed his client waived his right to appear. Weve been waiting almost two years to have that opportunity!
We will be filing a complaint with the Bar. This scum bucket deserves to lose his license. Scum of the earth
