I wrote an essay but I'll sum it up in a few sentences. The fire department inspects businesses every year for fire safety. Every year it's the same inspector. Every year this inspector finds trivial violations to cite us. This year the inspection and reinspections went too far. We reached 4 or 5 reinspections. The violations are trivial nonsense present in at least 75% of homes and businesses. The majority are correctable on the spot but he doesn't give you a chance until after the inspection is done. The county inspects us every year for environmental compliance. Their inspectors do their job while being reasonable. They give you a chance when something is wrong. They provide a direct number to call and speak to the inspector. They give detail, advice, explain what's wrong. It's a totally different experience. The fire department is extremely strict and unreasonable. A very negative experience from a small department in a small town.
