This was the perfect place for my aunt. She had no living relatives close to her and we knew it would not be much longer that she would be able to stay with us. It was just too expensive to hire full-time caregivers so she could still stay at home. We tried for a few weeks, but we didn't always get the same care givers and when they did show up, they would chat among themselves but didn't engage with my aunt. We chose Pepper Tree because it offered companionship and was small enough that the ratio of caregivers to residents was more than adequate. My aunt was happy to engage with other residents closer to her age and could relate better to her life experiences as an actress in Los Angeles. My aunt passed and she was not alone. I feel so grateful and blessed for the wonderful care she received at this beautiful facility. And reading the other reviews, I understand from personal experience how death can cause us so much grief that we are quick to blame others.

This is a clean, well run facility that provides a home-like environment for the residents. The residents needs are constantly being assessed by the staff and each one has an individual plan of care developed by the staff. I don't hesitate to recommend this assisted care facility.

As a close family friend and I am leaving a review as I am outraged and shocked by the way the situation was handled and by the responses from the owner. As a healthcare worker who has experience working in the field and the needs of those living in board and care, assited living facilities and SNF ( skilled nursing facility), the level of excuses given as to why proper care could not be provided on their behalf and blaming everything on hospice and the family is appalling. If you were not equipped to handle the level of care necessary for your resident then why accept them back into your facility ? Other than to fill up a space that you can charge for. The moment you realized her G-TUBE wasnt functioning properly, why would you or anyone else in your facility attempt to fix it? Are you all trained in how to fix a clogged G-tube, are you a GI specialist? I didnt think so. How about contacting the family or Hopsice immediately so the problem could be resolved by someone who knows what theyre doing. That doesnt sound like a safe or healthy environment is being provided, as you said you do. The statements responding to the family are callous and unprofessional. Especially stating that she was on TPN and in the ICU who told you that? Stop posting incorrect information to make yourself look better, you arent absolving yourself of anything. Unfortunately people pass away regardless of our efforts but Ive never seen such a response as to blame Hopsice equipment or the family. I am so disgusted by these words and actions, I will tell everyone I know to avoid peppertree like the plague!
