Zona Rosa

My husband and I visited Zona Rosa today around 3 pm. We were greeted by a waiter (wearing a hat- Im mentioning this just to clarify) who informed us that the kitchen would be closed for 30 minutes. He suggested we wait at the bar and promised us that the first round of drinks would be complimentary. Despite the waiter's assurance that the drinks were on the house (he mentioned it twice), when we received our bill the charges for the drinks were included. When we brought this up with the staff, particularly the lady who took our order, she denied the existence of any such offer (also the kitchen was never closed). Seeking clarification, we approached the waiter who initially offered, only to be met with hostility and attitude. He claimed that the complimentary drinks were only applicable if we had chosen to sit at a table, not at the bar. This discrepancy in information was not only misleading but also deceitful. Feeling cheated and disrespected by the waiters dishonesty and rudeness, we paid our bill without leaving a tipa rare occurrence for us. Unfortunately, the incompetence and arrogance of one individual tarnished what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. Zona Rosa, take note: unless improvements are made in both service and integrity, your reputation will continue to suffer.
