Paradigm Treatment - Malibu

i was at paradigm from august to october 2022. paradigm did not help me in my treatment for my depression, anxiety, ed, or self harm. the staff was constantly underprepared and seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. the way that i left was awful and traumatic. i was gooned (legal kidnappers hired by my parents) they sent me to a wilderness program and said that i claimed "to only have tried to better my relationships with my family because i knew i would kill myself anyway." (this was NOT true). my family and primary therapist was supposed to be there when i left, but only my primary was there. my parents requested for my family therapist to be there bc i liked her and didnt get along with my primary. the entire time, my therapist seemed like he didnt care what was happening to me. overall, paradigm was very unhelpful to my treatment and i would not reccomend sending your child there.

very personal things were forced to be shared with the group, but the therapy was effective and the living conditions were a thousand times better than the nine other places ive been. if i needed help again, i would go here no doubt

Think twice before writing a check to Paradigm! In 2021 my family paid Paradigm $59,500 upfront for 35 days of treatment. The written agreement clearly stated that any portion paid by insurance would be reimbursed to us. Our insurance made the final payment on November 10, 2021. At that point Paradigm was required to return $29,000 to our family. After 3 months I became concerned and started calling and emailing Paradigm to get an update. I was given endless promises that they would look into it, they would get back to me, etc. In March they promised that it would be sent by mid-April at the latest. April came and went, but there was no check. June arrived and I was still not getting straight answers. After 7 months I began to fear that I might never see the money again. What if Paradigm wasnt paying me because they couldnt? Perhaps they were insolvent. At the very least they were behaving highly unethically. In either case I wasnt comfortable waiting any longer. I hired a lawyer to assist me before it was too late. Sure enough, Paradigm sent a check within days of receiving a letter from my attorney! Paradigm never once denied that they owed the money. Paradigm never once offered an explanation for the delay. Paradigm did not apologize for the gigantic hassle. Paradigm did not offer anything to compensate me for interest, inconvenience or for my attorney fees. Although the review is a summary of my experience, I have been as honest and accurate as possible. The review is based on copious notes I took throughout this ordeal.
