Vanguard Apartments

Long overdue review: I lived at Vanguard for two years. Management is awesome and the apartments are spacious. :) Parking can be tough sometimes but it's nice being at the bottom of Ascot Drive. Apt complex is quiet, clean, and well-managed! 5/5 highly recommend.

Viola is a great property manager... very friendly and helpful! Definitely goes out of her way to make you feel welcome at this complex! Great location (nice setting with trees and hills surrounding the property) and walking distance to trails that connect to Lafayette reservoir!

I lived here for two years. The managers of these apartments are super nice and make living here a joy! Sad to be leaving but grateful for my time here! Location is amazing. It's at the bottom of Ascot, close enough to Saint Mary's College, Safeway, and cvs! Thanks again!

Personally, I've enjoyed living at Vanguard. From what I've heard, the previous landlord did not do a good job maintaining the complex, but the current landlord has been great! Very responsive if something is wrong in the unit. It is an older complex so that is something to be aware of, but the grounds are very well maintained and the rooms are pretty big. There's a bus stop within walking distance from the complex that goes directly to campus, which is pretty convenient if you're a college student but don't own a car. It's also located next to Rheem Shopping center which has pretty much all the stores you're going to see in Moraga (Minus the Safeway area which isn't that far either). I would just be careful with parking if you do own a car as street parking can get crowded in the evenings during the week.

My family (mom with two kids) have loved this place since we came. Peaceful, safe place with respectful and nice neighbors are what we've found here. Randy has been so helpful to us not only with maintenance work, but both Viola and him always offer extra help to our family when we need to move heavy appliances upstair. It is not about the job itself. It is more about us having a feel of being surrounded by kind hearted people and feel secured. The neighbors with kids I chatted with during our weekend laundry also shared the same feel. And we are so grateful about having found this place. The apartment itself is not a fancy one. But  I have seen a lot of work done since we moved in more than a year ago, new paint of the stairs, landscaping, swimming pool...More important, my son can enjoy walking to and from Campolindo HS with his friends every day.
