Kahuna Sportfishing

I was able to get on the Kahuna for a rock cod trip a few weeks back and was blown away, I have been on at least half a dozen party boats over the years and this trip was one of the most memorable, Captain Joey was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the deckhand Rudy was super helpful he was gaffing fish untangling line and making sure everyone was getting fish, everyone on the boat had their limit in like three hours, but instead of going back to the dock Captain Joey took us whale watching, we found a large pod of Orca's and got some great shots, all in all, great fishing, great crew, a very comfortable boat, and a very reasonable price.

Had a great time out on the Kahuna with captain Joey and Rudy as our deckhand. They put us right on the spots for big catches and were very helpful dealing with everything from reel tangles to hauling fish up out of the water. I have been on several fishing boats but this was my favorite trip ever. Just a great time, and I caught some monsters including a personal best vermilion. Thanks guys and see you again soon!

Fishing is good. Not kid friendly. I repeat. Not kid friendly. Deck hand literally threatened every one on board with battery if you didn't follow the rules. Lots of smoking. Lots of drinking. Lots of language. Did I mention not kid friendly? If you are taking buddies and plan a day of fishing and drinking and don't care about the threats, you'll do fine. Otherwise my suggestion is choose another provider of services.

This is a great boat for a fishing excursions. The captain Kris V is very knowledgeable about the local ocean and fishing spots. Boats leaving at 6:00 am and returning by 3:30 pm. You can buy fishing license and your own canned beers and what ever you want to eat. If you haven't fished before make sure you take a Damamine or Bonnine the night before and an hour before boarding the ship.  Carry $40 or more in cash for tips and fish cleaning. Parking cost $10 for all day. Your fishing cost includes fishing rod, reel and bait.
