Been filing taxes with them for last few years but the way they treat their customers have gone downhill. They behave as if THEY are doing a favor for you and charge a hefty amount in fees. They dont respond to emails, calls. When you walk in they will be extremely rude. Not worth it. Im taking my business somewhere else from now on.

Very Bad Service ! They failed to
File my tax to FTB 3 years in a row even after charging fees for all
3 years. Highly avoid them (I wish 0 Star is an option)
Update - Rupinder from United Tax promised to reimburse for their failure to pay and since then is not responding or answering emails.
Update - 06/15 - several months later no response to calls or response to email
Update - 09/3 - Close to a year now and no Response and failure to respond to our request
Update - 03/21/2024 - 2 Years later , no feedback and no one contacted me

Very unprofessional. I had been using United Tax for past 6 years but this year the treatment was very bad. I don't live in California and I usually file my returns through phone. I had submitted my documents months in advance but no one reached out to me to set an appointment . I tried calling them almost everyday to ask about it and I always got a standard response that I will get a call back by end of day which never happened. I even tried emailing a few people in their office but never got a response back. The front desk person Terrance kept giving the same response again and again without putting a supervisor or tax preparer on line. When asked to do so he would always say that everyone is busy and nobody could come on call. He even asked me to come to the office directly to file the tax return even after knowing that I don't live in California. Very rude and unprofessional behavior.

I've worked with this tax filing company for the last seven years. Despite telling myself I'll explore other options each year, time constraints inevitably lead me back to them. However, their approach to customer service and communication leaves much to be desired. The customer service phone line is unreliable, and proactive communication is nonexistent. This lack of interaction means I often chase them for updates or clarifications.
One of the most significant areas for improvement is their advisory service. Despite their high rates, which one might assume include comprehensive tax-saving strategies, their advice on navigating IRS rules to maximize savings is sorely lacking. Their service essentially boils down to basic tax filing without the added value one might expect, given the cost.
Comparatively, platforms like TurboTax offer a more straightforward, value-driven experience. Their process is more transparent, and they provide valuable tips on how to save on taxes within the IRS guidelines, something I've found missing from my current provider.
In sum, while I've stuck with this company out of convenience.
