I met Jorey Bernstein 40 years ago when he was two years behind me at the Johns Hopkins University. I went on to become a urologist in Philadelphia, and he went on to build a wealth management empire in Los Angeles. I knew he would be successful at whatever he did, because of how hard he worked in college, and I couldn't have been more correct. We hooked back up when Facebook came out and when I heard what he was doing, I immediately flew to Los Angeles to give him the money that I had. I did not have a lot of money at the time and I have been through four financial advisors prior to giving everything to Jorey. Things are very different for me now. Jorey is unique in four separate ways and I have never made a better financial decision than trusting him with my money. 1. He's always reachable by text or telephone anytime day or night which is impressive because we are on different time zones in different parts of the country. 2. He takes the time to explain to me every decision he makes with my money which the other advisers did not do for me. They said "let me handle it" I'm the kind of guy who needs to understand. I explain things to my patients and I want my advisor to explain things to me. He was perfect in this regard 3. He listens to me. That sounds like an obvious thing to do but it is not. If I had an idea from my medical business about a company that I thought was going to do well, he would research it immediately and tell me why it was not a good idea to invest, or he would invest in it for me. I never felt like I was ignored, even though I know very little about the business world. 4. Finally, and this is probably the most rare withfinancial advisors, he literally cares about his clients. He feels a tremendous fiduciary responsibility for every dollar that he manages, and I truly believe that he puts his entire heart and soul into his business. That's why it has grown so successfully.
