Camellia Avenue Elementary School

The pick up and drop off are terrible. I would prefer a system instead of struggling to look for parking and trying to get past double parked cars. The principle is one of the rudest people I've ever met. because she is the principal she feels she can be disrespectful towards parents. We are adults also and trying our best. She decided it was a good idea to speak to me about a issue she had in front of my children and the conversation didn't end up going well. She should've spoken to me when my children were not present. So now my kids are asking why their principle is so rude and saying she has a bad attitude. Great job. A person like this should not be in charge of a school.The teachers here are ok we've had a couple my kids were pretty happy with.  The after school program coaches have been kind to my kids. Overall, the only reason my kids are here is because it's our home school.

I too went to this school 50 years ago.  It was a great school and I loved my teacher Miss Calagarous.  I know I had many more teachers than her but she is the one that stuck out the most to me as being a great teacher.  I had one teacher I believe in the 5th grade can't remember her name but she was mean and nasty.  I accidentally dropped a bottle of nail polish on the floor, she embarrassed me in front of the whole class telling me I would be better off at home helping my mom clean the house.  She wasn't a very good teacher.  I hope she is still alive and able to read this.  I want her to know I became a great member of society, in spite of her being a bad teacher.  Glad to see Camellia Ave is still in business.

i attended this elementary school 50 years ago in 1969. we moved to north hollywood and i was a sixth grader and wouldn't you know it, shortly after attending the teachers went on strike. my teacher was ms calagarous. watching her walk the picket line was interesting to the point i never forgot her name. i also remember a friend named jr and his sister anna. what an amzing time in my life.fernando [email protected]…

Staff is horrible teachers are ok they are all over the place they don't know whats right whats wrong but they want you to fallow rules u guys don't even know what is right or wrong ur making everything so hard on kids and parents the morning line up is a mess pick up time  is a mess the helpers don't know what to do one tells u go this line the other tells you go the other line if u have daily pass stand here next day another person says no go to the other line  ehhhh u guys are b/s i regret bringing my child to this school but it is are home school the whole lausd system is horrible u don't  know how to ran the system i have a lot to complain about this school my list is very long  but don't want to get to there level that's why ur school rating is 3 u deserve it.
