Kayak Launch Area

Its an okay launch but there are much better places to launch. Sure its free but is it really worth the quarter mile walk hauling a heavy kayak full of fishing gear? You may be able to launch your kayaks when it is high tide, which we did, but by the time we returned, there was nothing but mud flats. Had to remove the fins and pedals off the kayak and paddle in and basically scooting the kayak along algae and mud. When I stepped off the kayak to drag it up onto land, my legs just sank into the wet mud up to my knees. And the mud and gunk stuck to the bottom of the kayak on the ride home. Overall experience with this launch, got at least a mile walk in, sore lower back, mud everywhere, and no fish. But at least I saved 15 bucks.

It's a nice place to kayak with plenty of wildlife. Go prepared with an understanding of the tides, winds, and a kayak cart for the walk from the parking lot. Launching or returning at low tide is not recommended because of the mud...

Nice spot for kayaking. Came on a day with classes or something going on Restrooms: Free bathrooms nearby the launch point

An incredibly poorly designed park for kayak fisherman. Launch is 2 ft of quickmud and you must pull your fully rigged yak over a mile from the parking area! What in the world...
