Coastal Trail and Fern Canyon Loop Trail

A wonderful hike! Be prepared with good water shoes. Saw people at the trail with tennis shoes who either turned around when we hit the creek, or just accept their fate and got their feet wet. We were there in late April and there were very few people. No permits were needed. The weather was lovely. We did the loop anti-clockwise. Navigating a path through the canyon can be tricky but doable. Pretty easy if you're ok with getting your feet wet. Water level was a bit above our ankles at times. The road to the trailhead is not fully paved and has a bunch of potholes, and we drove through a creek at one point. We had a regular car though, and it was more than enough.

Excellent trail below bluff along the ocean. Many waterfalls. Very flooded in January.

Delightful and challenging loop in Fern Canyon. Very beautiful but can be tricky to navigate a path along the trail. Water shoes are suggested and possibly a walking stick.
