Palisades Charter High School

Our 15 year old is a rising junior at Pali High.  Everyone in our family loves this school. It's pretty big, but that's a good thing, because it allows for competitive sports teams and school clubs and an AMAZING drama department. Every year Pali High has kids get accepted at every kind of university including the most elite. The school offers great electives and also many AP classes (which are high caliber but also entail a large quantity of work and so should be taken in moderation). Go Pali!

One person at the entrance of the school's parking lot let a bus in (by accident) thinking it was a late bus once inside the parking lot another security guard I do not know his name but he is overweight and obviously lazy and unhelpful!  told me that he opens the gate at 5:30 which was an hour later and he left so the bus had to reverse and find its way out. The security guard was not helpful at all, thankfully the security guard who initially let me in told me that there was an electric gate that I could use to exit at the other end of the parking lot. I detest lazy, rude and useless employees like this man. Who lives to make everything difficult for others.

Admin bureaucrats who don't know how to teach students by giving them a real education and the life lessons run this school. Parent's your money gets wasted on their pet projects rather than student needs. Here are the real student needs: more personalized tutoring after school. Mentorship and also career-based skill-building is where this school is deficient. Instead, the admin favors sports.

Really great community, excellent teachers, wonderful sports, and extracurricular activities. Really glad we chose PCHS after looking at other area schools.

I graduated from here in 2009 and for whatever reason was thinking about my years here today. The places is very nice looking with a beautiful track and lots of space (which is why I give two stars) but man, 90% of the teachers could really care less about you. Don't get me wrong, I get that the class sizes are huge and it's really hard to give individual attention to students.I'll always remember the day the intro to psychology elective  teacher found out that I was deeply depressed and everything that goes with it but just let me walk out of that classroom. No attempt to reach out or offer a lifeline to a 16 year old kid at all. Life is amazing now, but I always wanted to tell someone about that. So here we are on Yelp.Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
