Worst local department. They love to write completely pointless tickets and harass both residents and neighbors who come to visit the beach. Officer Hatch issued me a ticket for expired tags AFTER he had pulled me over a few days prior and verified my registration is valid and I had recently purchased the vehicle. Law states I have 90 days to receive the new tags from the DMV, who had not yet provided them to me. Writing a ticket like this just reeks of desperate to make a quota, nothing to do with protecting and serving whatsoever. Which is besides the point that this officer knew my exact situation and accepted it as legal, before trying to write me a ticket for it. Not huge fans of the LASD but Im sure theyd do a much better job.

Got pulled over yesterday, my license plate was delapidated and it was no longer reflective. The officer was polite, and respectful. He warned me to get a license plate replacement from dmv.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department is service oriented from helping school children to visiting the elderly.During Covid the police helped the elderly get meals delivered, and checked them every day! They are simply the BEST!
