Wanted to share my disappointing experience with PV Engineering. Rather than leaving a long list, let me just share that you have to make sure everything they say is in writing and that they are documented in the proposal.  I lost over a year's time due to their initial incorrect assessment and ended up having to use another firm and completely changed the project.

I feel so fortunate to have PV engineering who was recommended to me by the City of Redondo Beach to implement some seismic code upgrades to my home. I am beyond impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. They have a great relationship with the City which made things go much quicker. They have excellent communication skills and continuously kept me updated throughout the process and forwarded all correspondence, plans, and corrections to me in a transparent way. I am so impressed with my experience with engineer Rick Morales and his project manager Manny Andrade. I very highly recommend them!

PV Engineering was hired by a contractor we used to do a visual inspection of our property.  Based on the visual inspection, the contractor (who PV Engineering later admitted had limited the scope of the inspection from the outset) recommended costly, and possibly unneeded, work.  When we stopped working with the contractor, we attempted to hire PV Engineering directly.... And received such a strange recommendation (none of which included actually running calculations on the property) that we decided to go elsewhere.  Thankfully we did, because the new structural engineer actually analyzed our building plans (which you thought would've happened from the start...) and told us that we didn't need any additional work to our property.  Yikes.
