Just for clarification, this is NOT a clothing optional beach, despite what some reviewers have suggested (nude bathing is illegal in LA County). If you decide to go without, you do so at your own risk. This is a very secluded and rocky beach. Surf here is notoriously dangerous, so I heavily advise against entering the water. Picturesque views and being able to get a glimpse of the caves is definitely worth the hike down though! If you plan to visit, access can be tricky, with no nearby public parking and steep trails. You could try parking at Ladera Linda Park and start hiking from there (a little over 3 miles both ways, depending on which way you start walking) or at Abalone Cove Shoreline Park (2 miles both ways, but parking isn't free). Bring plenty of water, wear appropriate walking shoes, go on a nice day, and you'll have a good time!
