True Oral, Facial & Dental Implant Surgery

Dear Grace, We are sorry that you did not have a great experience in our office in Town Center. This is a duplicate of our response to your other review for the Town Center office where you were a patient. I would like to address your concerns here, or you may call our office so we can discuss them personally. First off, our office is not out of date as it underwent a full remodel recently and is a beautiful, state of the art office. We get many compliments on it daily. As you also stated, we are a network provider for your insurance. This would mean that your insurance company does in fact set the fees for your procedure and they determine the allowable amount as well as the payment, based on your policy. However, insurance does not dictate care, even though they tell you they consider some procedures unnecessary. Deciding on what is necessary for your procedure is done by Dr. Straw. Insurance companies can decide to pay or not pay on particular procedures, but that does not mean they are unnecessary. If you went to sleep for your wisdom teeth surgery and the procedure was longer than 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 3 units of anesthesia is appropriate, even if not payable by your insurance. What the insurance company considers “standard” may not be a good indicator of what is actually necessary. When an insurance company denies a procedure, it is standard practice that the patient does then cover the cost of that procedure and the contract rate does not apply. The good reviews you criticize are from patients whom we have treated and were beyond satisfied with the level of care and compassion they received while in our office. This is what we strive for!
