Great experience at VEG in Pleasant Hill. Thought dog had something stuck in ear. Doctor saw our dog in less than 5 minutes. Did not find anything in ear. Recommended we go to our normal vet in the AM for ear infection because might be more cost effective . Did not charge me. Amazing service and will definitely use VEG again for my two dogs

The staff here at VEG are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately my little guy didnt make it, but staff went above and beyond to do everything to make him comfortable. I really appreciate that they let me be a helicopter mom while they worked on him and explaining all the steps. I hope to never have to see them again, but if I ever need an emergency vet, I will most definitely be going here.

The team at VEG Pleasant Hill saved my dogs life yesterday. She is an older dog who had a serious, acute abdominal illness that required immediate surgery. They were clear and candid about the diagnosis, risks, and costs. We opted for a somewhat risky surgery (again, we were informed of said risks) and one of their best surgeons came in right away on her day off to try and make it possible for us to have more days, more hikes, more kisses, and more snuggles. And while any emergency surgery is always expensive - for pets and humans alike - we are being refunded 1/4 of the initial estimate. Thank you to the whole team for your kindness, empathy, honesty, and intelligence. I hope you all know the difference you make.

I am absolutely blown away by this veterinary group. I had my first experience with them last year at their San Ramon location, but this new Pleasant Hill location raises the bar even higher. Never in my life have I encountered a group of vetrinary professionals with more compassion, empathy, respect, and genuine love for animals. When you enter the front door you can tell right away that this place means business. There are no walls, no doors, no hiding. The open floor layout enables your pet to get the best care immediately and you are able to keep your pet in your sight at all times. Even when theyre having a procedure done if you want. I came to VEG in Pleasant Hill after my dog, a 7 lb Yorkshire Terrier, came up to me at my home and had something that looked like a fishing line hanging out of his mouth. He was clearly uncomfortable and when I tried to remove it it was stuck and I was afraid he had swallowed a sewing needle or a fishing hook or something really terrible. I rushed him to VEG, calling them on the way. When I arrived the entire staff, headed by Dr. Caitlyn Wilson, immediately ran to assist us. After a quick examination they showed me an estimate, which was very fair, and then asked me if I would like to hold him while they gave him the IV to sedate him. This reduced so much stress in my dog as I was able to hold him as he went through the pain instead of someone else holding him down. He quickly was sedated and I rubbed his little face as he fell deep into sedation. I was then blown away by the fact that they asked if Id like to accompany them over to the exam table to be with him as they tried to find the source of the line. While all this was going down my 9 year old son, whod been home sick from school all day due to food poisoning, was laying down on their waiting bench, cozied up in a brand new plush blanket that they had available for guests. They found the wire was a clothes tag that he had chewed on and it was only lodged between his teeth thankfully. As he was waking up they trimmed his nails for me for free and allowed me to stay by his side the entire time. I cannot stress enough how incredible this is that they allow the owners to do this. Not only did it ease my anxiety that I had, but more importantly it helped my dog more than I could ever explain. I can't imagine how terrifying it must be for them to be ripped away from there parents and then poked and prodded by people they don't know doing things that they don't understand. I have never seen my dog so calm at a vet before and it was all because they allowed him to stay in my arms and allowed me to stay with him the entire time he was there including when he was under anesthesia. The open floor plan that they have is ingenious. They are very fair with their pricing esp ecially being as they are an emergency vet. they were very open and honest with the pricing and you don't feel as if you're being ripped off or taken for a ride. The equipment is all modern, the location was very Sleek looking and clean. they had tons of snacks and coffee and water and all sorts of things for the guests to keep them comfortable. I have been absolutely blown away by VEG. They are a game changer.
