        I ordered the spaghetti and bread on the lunch special. It was more than I could eat. That with an iced tea was less than $13.00. You won't find a better deal, in my opinion.

        I did not have the best experience this time around. Asked for the chicken parm, one of my favorites. Was disappointed at the taste and texture of the chicken. I didn't know if I was eating a piece of breaded tortilla or last week's leftover chicken smothered in pasta sauce to disguise the taste. Pasta and cheesy breadsticks came to the chicken's rescue and saved the night. I wish I would of had the girl server that was there, she was really good. My guy server, not so good. Atmosphere was 2 babies taking turns crying...

      "Vincent DePhilippis Born in New York NY, raised in Naples Italy returned to New York City at the age of 18. Vincent DePhilippis and Madeleine Manfredi from Nimes France met in New York NY (Mamma and Papa) married in 1925, then settled in Westchester Pennsylvania. Then moved to San Diego in 1947 where they opened an Italian market named Cash & Carry Italian foods on India Street in San Diego. 1950 was the beginning of what has become a very successful line of family restaurants that are today know as Filippis Pizza Grottos that are owned and operated by original family members of the founders. The DePhilippis family would like to welcome you and your family to visit our restaurants to enjoy our traditional old Italian family recipes."
