    My best friend paid a deposit and signed a contract for Melissa to do her hair for her wedding. However, when my friend reached out to her the day before the wedding to confirm the time that Melissa was going to show up, she never got a response. The morning of the wedding there was still no response, despite me, the bride, and several other bridesmaids attempting to reach out to Melissa through Instagram messages, Instagram calling, calling Melissa's phone number, texting her, and calling her salon. We eventually gave up and had to scramble and find hairstylists for the bride, her mother, and the rest of us bridesmaids THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING. Now, TWO DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING, Melissa finally responded to the bride claiming that she had the stomach flu and assumed that the bride didn't want her to come since she never did a trial. However, it was stated in the contract that a trial was not necessary. You would assume that if someone signed a contract and paid a deposit they would still want you to show up for their wedding, regardless of if they did a trial or not. The whole ordeal was very stressful for everyone in the bridal party, and added an unnecessary amount of stress the day of a wedding. It was very unprofessional and I do not recommend Melissa for a wedding. If I could give her zero stars I would. UPDATE: If I was offering a service to a client and asked them to pay a deposit and sign a contract, I would never assume the client changed their mind unless they explicitly tell me. It would be my responsibility to reach out if I was unsure of the client's final decision, and I would certainly respond to my client the day of, and day before, the contracted date of service. It was your responsibility to confirm times. We do not know how long it will take you to do hair for a bridal party. And it was definitely your responsibility to communicate with the bride in a timely manner when she reaches out to you. She reached out because it was the day before and she had not heard from you. A bride has a lot to do the week before the wedding and needs to trust the people she has hired to be responsible and professional. There is no excuse for ghosting any client, especially a bride on her wedding day.

Thank you for your feedback, I have since refunded her the deposit. I did not assume that she didn’t want me to come because there was no trial, I didn’t have any communication from her prior to the wedding day until 9:45pm the night before her wedding. I have never had miscommunication like this previously and will be addressing it within my business.
