Horrible dental office. They scammed my family member out of money and the doctor was aggressive with them during their procedures. In my opinion, the office manager or financial liaison they work with depends on aggressive predatory tactic methods to scam elderly and vulnerable patients. Please remember to follow up with your insurance and provide feedback about your experience with the dental office. Its the only way these people will learn not to take advantage of people

This dental office did a horrible job to my elderly father. They did partial dentures that did not fit and were hurting him. In agony my father removed them but in the process they broke. Now the office won't help him. He has gone multiple times for assistance but they keep giving him the round around. They took advantage of a senior citizen with a language barrier that does not speak English. I will stay away from this dental office .

Am offering two stars due to the professional and kind in-person staff actually at the office on La Sierra in Riverside. We have a nationally recognized HMO dental insurance policy with a booklet an inch thick of in-network providers. In addition to that, we must actually contact patient services to be authorized to use whatever dental office within that booklet. That having been done, we toddled off to Gold Coast Dental as my Husband's crown had broken and actually had fallen out after years of use. As stated, the office staff, including the techs and dental staff, are exceptionally nice and professional; hence two stars. When my husband came home after his initial appointment, it was found that he needed a crown replacement (obviously) as well as a cleaning; another appointment was scheduled. When he went for that, he was given several shots of Novacaine. This was confusing in and of itself because they were simply gluing the original crown back into place until the new crown was made and doing a normal cleaning - which is FREE under our current HMO policy. He had no idea what was coming. And allow me to say this - my Husband maintains the utmost oral hygiene practices I have ever seen in my life. He is literally the poster boy for awesome teeth, brushing, flossing and water-pic'ing after every meal and snack. His breath is always lovely and his teeth are likewise. That's why what's noted below is pure insanity. We had inquired if they had confirmed our insurance was still servicing their office and they nodded and indicated they had. And then, the fun began. They performed a "gum infection treatment" to all four quadrants to the tune of $1,592.00! HE HAD NO GUM INFECTION! He had a crown that had fallen out due to decades of use! Next came the "Gingival Irrigation" with a "Medicinal Agent" per quadrant to the tune of $520.00 and when it seemed they hadn't charged enough for what was supposed to be a normal cleaning that was fully covered by our insurance carrier (did I mention that it is an HMO??!), the cherry on the top of the "cleaning" session was a "Laser Sulcular Decontamination" for an additional $520.00. Mind you, we haven't even gotten to the actual crown replacement at this point! They listed a plethora of procedural codes for the crown and enhanced this trip to dental hell by noting that the crown was an "upgraded Optional Emax/Zirconia," for a [crown only] price of $2,144. Out the door total was $4,776.00. When I found all of this out before he went for the final placement of the crown, I called the office billing department and spoke with Nancy. Nancy is defensive and rude. She told me that my Husband had not only "authorized" them to do all of the stated unnecessary and upgraded work, but had also "signed off" on it. She went on further to say that they had given him the breakdown of all of the work they were going to do and that he and I "obviously didn't communicate very well if he hadn't shown me!" WOW! WOW! WOW! After I picked myself up off the floor, I asked to speak to her supervisor and was denied that opportunity. She said she would give her my number. I then asked for a copy of what they had given my Husband. She said she would email it to me; that document never came. After my Husband went back to get the final crown put in, he denied anything further to be done and asked for a final breakdown of the bill. The bill clearly stated that we had NO INSURANCE but offered discounts for some of what they did. He paid our portion (co-pay for no insurance?) and left and we are in search of a new dentist. I noticed that every post is responded to and a number is given to call to discuss the situation. Who exactly are you supposed to talk to? Especially when they clearly indicate you have no insurance! I'm thinking the Insurance Commissioner; pray you don't get Nancy on the phone!

I didnt think the people were that bad. Theyre quite funny but theyre definitely being dragged by money-hungry bosses. Now Im prone to cavities so hearing I had 7 didnt sound impossible, especially since I hadnt been to the dentist in a year and did not take good care of them within that year. I was honestly really desperate to have my teeth taken care of. But I felt my wallet was more of a concern than my health. After almost 8 fillings (? - I honestly lost count) and getting kinda roughhoused in the chair, I got home and realized I couldnt floss between certain parts of my teeth. Like, there was so much filling, they blocked the gaps in my molars. Now this has never happened to me in all my experience of fillings. As funny of an experience I had, I will not be going back. I would give them a lower score but its kinda my fault for not doing better research on these guys. Also, this may be selfish, but I cant do dentists who dont give you a cute little goodie bag to go home with.
