I wanted to share my story, in case someone needs to hear a little reassurance. I also was initially scared of the general reviews on this Planned Parenthood. However, this facility has an amazing, caring staff that all actively listen to all your concerns and do their absolute best in giving you the care you need. I had gone into PP for an in-clinc abortion, D&E type. I have never been pregnant before, and never went to a PP prior. I grew up having abnormal periods and caught my unwanted pregnancy late, additionally prolonged by denial and fear. Fortunately, the nurses discovered I was still eligible for an abortion, and immediately I started the process. It took two days worth; the first consists of opening the cervix (numbed) with overnight dilators and the very next day was the vacuum suction (under deep sedation). Overall, the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants all have such great attitudes, sweet compassion, and absolute patience for any questions or emotions you have to share with them. I never felt judged, offended, or unheard by any of them, instead I could honestly cry thinking about the sheer sympathy they all possessed for someone as vulnerable as me at the time. While I was thinking positively and keeping good thoughts, I did still have worries and fear of pain. You always hear the bad, traumatic stories, but rarely the good ones. And, despite a few incidences of pain during the dilation process, my nurses and doctors did their best to comfort me, reassuring me by explaining every step, and allowing me to openly vent and ramble through it. I even remember my legs were shaking as the time came near, and one of my nurses took my hand into hers and reassured me that I was safe and I will be okay. And, I'm so glad I trusted her. Overall, I didn't have any unbearable, suffering type of pain, even waking up after my sedation with a 0 pain level. Additionally, I woke with a lovely heat pack, blanket, and reclined in the recovery room safe and sound. Genuinely, the people in this PP care about you as the individual. They insist for you to address anything on your mind, and do not mind any type of conversation. I gave staff hugs and gratitude at my discharge and I couldn't thank them enough for helping me get another chance at life. I do suggest you plan your PP appointment as an entire days worth. They have a overall wait time of "3-5 hours", however it can be more or less. I didn't have to wait any more than 2 hours myself, but I do believe it's because I would try to get early morning, opening hour. The reason for such long stated hours is so that each person gets thorough care and extra time in case of worst case scenarios or sudden changes of conditions. I personally never took offense to the wait time, and honestly, I feel that most of the bad reviews on here are due to that. To the person that might be reading this in perhaps a similar situation as me; trust in PP Riverside. I am two weeks after the procedure, and haven't had any abnormal complications, other than the usual side effects. I have no regrets in choosing this PP when everywhere else was booked and not able to give me the procedure I desperately needed.

The women that work here have always been so kind to me, Id rather go to this location than any other one. I wanted to say thank you to the nurses that were there for me this last appointment, specifically Bianca (lavender scrubs) & the other nurse (red hair with dreads). You ladies helped me through that appointment & brought me to ease, even held my hand when I needed it + Dr. Shelia
