        While this was the least cost option available to rent a vehicle at SMF I was not impressed with the service. There was no one at the checkout desk when we arrived and was directed via a sign to go to the adjacent company's counter to get our vehicle which caused a delay in getting the rental completed. The vehicle was not clean on the inside and clearly had been smoked in by a previous renter. This vehicle had stow-in-go seats that did not operate easily. Would not reccomend Payless if you want a clean fully functional vehicle.
