I went here after being to many many different home improvement places (including another floor and decore in ranch, not nearly as good). Had the best experience here! Came with my dog and everyone working there came and said hi to me and my dog. Elizabeth was very friendly, knowledgable, and patient. She helped pick me pick everything out which was nice to bounce ideas off of. She also has good taste and a good eye for detail, colors, design, etc. Anyways the whole staff there (met like 10 people today) was awesome! Helped get me through this super stressful remodel im doing. Actually more helpful than my $100k architectect

The only reason I am even giving 2 stars is because everyone there was very nice. The store does not stand by their product, and we were given incorrect information several times. After multiple visits to F&D Sacramento, we finally purchased a hand-scraped engineered bamboo hardwood flooring -we were advised it was extremely durable, as it is bamboo and we were told there was nothing we could do to that floor that it couldn't hold up through. What we were NOT told is that the flooring had an analuminum-oxide finish over the top that scratches if you so much as step on it. We got a good chunk of the flooring down before we realized est 25% had scratches all over the surface. We don't even know how they got there, we were still in the installation process so they had barely been exposed to any foot traffic at all. We called the store about it, and we were advised to try rubbing the scratches out with a number of solutions. We tried them all, and none of them worked. When we tried to return the flooring, we were told they would only accept the unopened boxes, which would have been over a $1,000 loss for us. The other option was that they would accept a full refund of the product if we made another flooring purchase there the same day. (It should be noted, this bamboo flooring was no longer for sale at this location by this time, est 4 weeks after we bought it.) I wasn't happy about choosing more flooring there, but we had been without flooring in our home for over a month at that point, so we chose a Nucore Whispercore rigid core luxury vinyl plank flooring. It was more expensive than the bamboo flooring, and I am not happy with it, and now I feel stuck with it. It clicks and crackles under foot, despite using the added underlayment that is advised for this product, and I am worried that it feels like cheap plastic flooring. I feel that the store should have acknowledged that they sold us a garbage product in the first place and given us a full refund. We were ALSO told that the stair nose for the bamboo flooring was available, but it wasn't, AND THEN we were told the stair treads for the Nucore LVP flooring we bought were available, but the website says they are not (and it also says we can't get the thresholds). AND, I specifically asked our sales rep if there was any risk that the LVP flooring we were buying would be discontinued any time soon - she looked me right in the eye and said no, but then when the staff loaded the boxes of flooring into our trailer they gave us the open box they were using as samples and said we could have them because that flooring is discontinued. And since we are talking loading the trailer, they stacked these boxes on a pallet so poorly (too tall, too narrow) that they fell over while we were driving and my husband and I had to unwrap the pallet and move every box to the back of his truck bed (since he has a shell and we didn't want unsecured boxes sliding all over the trailer). He was initially very pleased they honored an exchange for the poor-quality product they gave us in the first place, and was satisfied giving them our business. However, I am not at all satisfied with the experience we have had with their products and we have agreed, this was our last purchase there. We did buy tile there about 2 years ago that we're good with, but F&D fell through so hard on this flooring issue that I am DONE. I feel like they are misrepresenting what they are selling and then sticking their customers with the trash they push off on them. (Did I mention, the floors were trash? Trash. And it smelled horrible, like chemicals.) The cashier was the BEST though, and she had so much patience with our toddler while we spent hours upon hours in that store. That was truly appreciated (I wish I could recall her name). I wasn't.going to leave a review, but it doesn't feel good to wake up at 3AM feeling sick about dropping $6,000 on 1,100sq ft of flooring that you just feel "meh" about. That's the service we got and I wouldn't wish it on others, so I am sharing.
