My sons room (and much of our house) is filled with acrylic paintings, watercolor, pottery, and other crafts made at the outpost. He has learned so many techniquesbest of all patience with the process. I especially love that they listen to the kids and will think up new projects based on what the kids bring up in class.

Such an awesome place for the community! A ton of class offerings including multi-class courses and one-time activities. I took the 6 week intro to wheel throwing course and absolutely loved it! You definitely get your money's worth in clay alone and the instructors are legit. Everyone is extremely friendly and it's really just a great time.

I can not say enough about how much I have loved my experience with the Artist Outpost. I came in with no pottery knowledge and felt right at home. I am now starting my 3rd series of classes. Everyone is so warm and encouraging and it has the perfect small studio feel for a new potter/artist. Their events are doing so much to encourage the Voltaire art scene and I can't wait to see this studio grow!

My group had a great time, but not due to program design. The instructor was very sweet, but offered little guidance. So much potential, but was basically the equivalent of buying your own paint and looking at a picture on Pinterest. It felt a little uncomfortable. They instructed us to get one paint color, and showed us the picture. After that they asked what color palette we wanted, without providing an overview of instructions/ steps, or discussing color pallets or lighting tips. The canvas outlines were also pretty sloppy, which some of us felt affected our paintings negatively. They did not come around to ask if anyone needed more paint in the remaining 1.5 hours, they just sat there and periodically said good job. I only mention this because the program design could be drastically improved with small changes. A little more training for staff and instructions sheets with overview and design tips for staff to guide instruction from managers/ owners would go a long way. Otherwise the staff was nice and the space was clean.
