"Attitude reflects leadership." Who said that? Actually, I think that's from a movie. LoL But it could not be more true. Professor Massap has cultivated an environment rich with smiles (always smile!), welcoming students, and most of all contagious energy. Easy decision to sign myself, my wife, and our son up to go on this Capoeira journey together ... it feels like we've just extended our family unit because that is the atmosphere he's built here and one that we're proud to be a part of. If you're reading this because you're interested, but apprehensive for whatever reason ... i assure you, you can do it. I'm in my mid-40s now and after only a handful of classes I've already begun to improve the way my body moves; something that I've been chasing forever, but as I've gotten up there in age ... has been so much more difficult to catch. I think I may have just found the cheat code to that lifelong chase.

Professor Massape is an amazing capoeira teacher, both in group classes and in private lessons. In private lessons he tailors his teaching so that you get a personal training experience using capoeira movements, he focuses on building your strength (especially core strength), endurance, acrobatic ability (he has extensive training in gymnastics and yoga), mental flexibility for improvisation, dynamic technique, and musical training. He has a warm, positive energy and a great sense of humor that make child and adult classes really fun and lively. He approaches every individual with kindness, sensitivity, and an attentive eye to promote personal growth and prevent injury. It is no surprise that he has built a fabulous capoeira community in San Diego that attracts visiting capoeira students and teachers from around the country and around the world.
