La Scuola's ability to keep the sanity, safety and joy of the  kids and teachers at the forefront through COVID has been unbeatable. As if we didn't know it was an incredible environment before...our gratitude to the entire team for their hard, hard work is immeasurable!

Applied to this school many years ago and paid the application fee. We took a tour of the school and we were excited to apply. Unfortunately, this school is unprofessional and did not even respond to our application. Not even a letter, text, email just letting us know if our son was accepted. When I called to speak to admin they apologized and said they would get back to me. Waited a few days (close to a week) and they still had not answered. I called again and no response from them and still to this day after many calls and emails...nothing. They basically stole my money and didn't have the courtesy to at least tell us we didn't get in. THIEVES!!!!

Our almost 8 year old son has been attending to La Scuola since he was 5. He's currently in second grade. We have been having a great experience. We are a bilingual family (I'm from Italy) and it has been a highlight to be able to be closer to the Italian culture through the staff and other families. The school has a thoughtful approach to social emotional learning, has proactive communication, an enrichment program during after care, a great music teacher, and organizes several events, many to foster inclusion of minorities, to educate parents about their learning approach, and to encourage social connections among parents. Families here are very friendly, down to earth, and kind. They have a large outdoor area for kids to play and a garden. And our son loves their food and goes often for a second round!

La Scuola International School is the best SF has to offer. The curriculum is thoughtful, intentional, engaging and second to none. My older daughter attended the preschool and while we came for the language immersion, we stayed for the education and she is now in the Elementary school program. (I saw many independent co-ed and all girls' schools in our pursuit of kindergarten but stayed with La Scuola as they are the best!) The academics are stringent but the approach (International Baccalaureate) and Reggio Emilia are engaging and fun. Their approach keeps children engaged and excited to go to school.  She runs into the gate each morning (as do most kids!) which is very telling.  My child's joy at school is obvious. The enrichment programs (garden, art, music) are amazing and not an afterthought like at so many schools. The music program is the best in SF, hands down. The Social Emotional Learning is also great in teaching children how to manage relationships. My younger daughter has now joined the preschool and it is as amazing as ever. It is warm and nurturing, fun, educational, motivating and inspiring. She is learning Italian (we don't speak it at home), has an amazing accent, can count to 20 and knows all her letters (age 4). She loves the atelier (art and music) and knows so much about gardening from their outdoor program. I can't say enough good things about the school.Come for a tour- you won't be disappointed. And they have a generous sliding scale tuition program so don't be deterred by price. It is a MUST see.

If a utopia for childhood education and care existed, it would look like La Scuola International School. It brings me joy and peace of mind to send my beloved son there everyday. It starts with the warm welcome we receive at drop-off and continues with seeing him run into the light-filled and thoughtfully designed environment created by Italian architect, Michele Zini. The playground is open and spacious. The classrooms are bright and playful, while not being overstimulating. Although we are not Italian, we love that he learns another beautiful language and culture. They serve a diversity of healthy, warm meals and snacks that are cooked fresh each day on-site with organic ingredients. The Reggio Emilia approach to learning is enriching and empowering. And best of all, you become a part of a community of parents that are involved and stay connected through an app that allows easy communication with anyone in your class or in the school. Needless to say, we love La Scuola and feel incredibly fortunate to have our son learning and cared for there.
