Dr Kurtbay Optometry

Dr. Kurtbay has been my optometrist for 20+ years. His service is excellent, quick, and professional, hence my loyalty. My eyeglass and contact prescriptions are always accurate and of the highest utility. And he offers a great selection of styles. Dr. Kurtbay is intelligent, clearly skilled, and has impeccable character. My family are all customers. I highly recommend Dr. Kurtbay Optometry.

The staff were incredibly nice, and super understanding when I was running 15 minutes late to my appointment due to difficulties finding parking. However, I had a not - so - positive experience with Dr. Kurtbay. As we were going over options for contacts, he went on a tangent about looking forward to finding time to exercise more. He then took the opportunity to point out that my skin looked red and inflamed (I was in a hurry because I was running late) and that I should make an effort to eat better. I found this to be really inappropriate and made me feel uncomfortable. He didnt really give me much of an opportunity to speak during my appointment with him, so I found it difficult to communicate my discomfort as I was getting ready to leave. I hope he learns to speak to his patients better.

I've been wearing contacts and glasses for distance vision for over 10 years, and this was the first time ever that an optometrist failed to prescribe the right one and made the exam and his suggestions so confusing and irrelevant that I had to see another optometrist. In addition, Dr. Kurtbay recommended glasses for reading when I never needed them. I ended up going to another optometrist and got the right prescription in a smooth visit, finding Dr. Kurtbay's prescription off even after 2 followup visits! I was also told by my new optometrist that my eyes are perfect for reading and that I didn't need any glasses
