I'd like to echo the sentiments of Coco, the kids here are always smoking and use Anglo Alley as sort of a "hide out@ during break time. Worst of all, is they leave garbage all over the place and don't pick up after themselves. I wouldn't have an issue if they just cleaned up after themselves.

The kids who attend this school are regularly out on the street and sitting in residents driveways in the neighborhood smoking. Its 10:16 am and children are smoking on Ortega and 21st avenue

Although it's technically a private school, more a French public school transplanted in San Francisco. Problems- Quality of the teachers and the admin staff is not consistent across the board. There are amazing teachers and really bad ones who would not finish the year in a US private US school- Kids and teachers much rougher than in a US private school. Administration does not care about the parents - Follows the French program - poor level in maths; too many topics. - Conflicts between parents, board and teachers. Seems to have calmed down but it was pretty bad.- Kindergarten environment not nurturingPluses -Program entirely in French. Most kids end up speaking fluently French- Social diversityConclusion: do a lot of research before you join, speak to people who left - beware!

This is a review for the middle school and high school. The elementary and pre-k school is somewhat better. There is incompetence at every level. Maybe a little better than a public school but I'm not so sure. Send your kids here and they will be years behind compared to going to other private or even public schools. In many years of sending our kids here we have not had a single positive interaction with the school administration. Extracurricular activities are a joke, support for kids with difficulties in certain subjects is non-existent, no textbooks or lesson plans - just random reading material and photocopies used as materials.Sick and tired of the Lycee. I had some bad vibes in the early years and I should have listened to my gut. I regret blowing a ton of cash on my kids' education. In hindsight it was a massive mistake that I will never live down. So, do yourself a favor and don't be like me. Research the school carefully. Ask about the curriculum and the qualifications of teachers and let your instincts guide you.

The best decision we've made for our kids 18 years ago. We're not French citizens but we speak French. The education is excellent, the diversity is enriching, the program variety including trips, discoveries, art and music classes make a child well rounded. The teachers are excellent and loving. Both our kids graduated from the Lycee with honors, went to UC Berkeley and felt well prepared. Their classmates went to amazing schools as well. They had friends whose parents didn't speak French and they excelled too. Teachers and school care for the kid's success. Highly recommended if you're looking for a well rounded international education (kids graduate with three languages) and if you want to have your child become a citizen of the world.
