Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown

Recently renovated amazing property that uniquely meshes modern amenities, look and feel with its historic roots. Have stayed at many Courtyard by Marriott properties & this one is the most distinct I've ever encountered. Beautiful central courtyard with large pool & spa area features not just a bistro but a full poolside restaurant & bar with TVs for watching sports or news. Great service and food. Property not only has easily accessible business center and unique spaces to host intimate meetings or social gatherings, but also two very cool elevated outside deck spaces with TVs and amazing views of the Santa Ynez Mountains to host events for a few dozen guests. Well appointed fitness center. The rooms are modern, beautifully appointed, immaculate, and spacious with complimentary high-speed internet and good-sized TVs. Beds were incredibly comfortable, firm but not overly so. The staff is very attentive, well trained, hospitable, and eager to go the extra mile on requests (I traveled for business and hosted a work gathering onsite that included a few outside-the-box asks of the team). While there's secure garage parking for a modest additional charge available, there's also ample street parking immediately adjacent the hotel on the cleanest streets you'll likely see in an urban setting if you don't want to pay to park. Finally, the location a block or two next to Santa Barbara's vibrant, gorgeous downtown provides the best of both worlds - convenient accessibility and walkability to renown eateries, wine tasting rooms, shopping, and entertainment without being so embedded within the middle of it that it's too loud and crazy. Can't say enough about the place, have stayed now multiple times, fair pricing on the stays, will be by Santa Barbara go-to for leisure and work, a gem! Rooms: Well appointed, modern, spacious, free internet, firm (but not overly so) beds, immaculate. Good sized TVs. Well insulated from the noise of surrounding guest rooms. Modern, quiet climate control. Perfect water pressure and temperature from the showers. Nearby activities: Amazing location a block or two adjacent to the vibrant downtown Santa Barbara scene that features incredible restaurant and bars, theaters, galleries, places to shop and gorgeous views of the neighboring Santa Ynez mountains or the seaside beauty of the renown Santa Barbara waterfront, harbor and Stearns Wharf along Santa Barbara's unique east / west facing coastline. Safety: Well-light, immaculate quiet streets surround the property. Even though its only a block or two from being in the middle of a vibrant downtown scene, it still seems tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Santa Barbara doesn't have an issue with homelessness or crime. Felt very very safe walking to and from the property even late in the evening. Walkability: 10/10. Literally a block or two from the amazing downtown Santa Barbara scene and gorgeous surrounding parks and historical landmarks (the Santa Barbara Courthouse, clock tower and lavishly landscaped garden areas are a must-see). Cleanest streets you'll ever encounter in an urban setting. Food & drinks: This Courtyard property is unique in that is features not just a basic bistro which is the typical brand standard but a full service poolside restaurant and bar with great service, food, and drinks called Saint Remy. Noteworthy details: Beautifully renovated property with unique architectural features that make it both modern yet connected to its proud historic past

Have stayed at this location several times. Always a pleasure. Rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Staff is wonderful. Best courtyard yet!
