Summary: Fantastic customer services, on-time, great problem solving skills; we think Steve and his team are the best contractors we've worked with. If you are looking for someone who's professional, responsive, and doing great work, you have to meet up with Steve! Highly recommended! Details: Our project scope: kitchen remodeling, replacing all flooring, fence, and painting (the painting job was referred out by Steve to Green Brush Painting, which ended up to be a great choice as well). Our selection process: We moved from out of state, so we found the contractors/companies using yelp, google, and Nextdoor. We met with 5 contractors, and Steve stood out among them - Why?! 1. He's on time at 5pm under crazy Silicon Valley traffic. 2. Unlike some others, Steve did not make us feel like a salesman that tried to include tons of add-ons on top of what we want. 3. His quote outlined the details of what's included and what's not clearly. 4. We didn't have to be on the phone calls with him, he responded our emails in timely fashion. 5. He was very confident about the project will be finished on time (we are renting now, so we crossed off whoever couldn't seem to give us a clear timeline).During the remodeling process: Steve is very patient about answering all our questions and concerns. He still responds to our emails as fast as before we signed the contract!!!! We honestly don't even know how he manages to answer all our crazy emails, but he really is doing a great job ensuring the remodeling process is smooth and taking care of any concerns we have. CSCI team also helped us improve other things around the house along the way, such as getting rid of two rose bushes that we don't want, patching up missing drywall, and installing water efficiency toilets. Another thing that's great about working with Steve is that he listens to us carefully and makes the results exceeding our expectations, but at the same time, if whatever we requested can be achieved with other more cost and time efficient way, he would just directly tell us about it and save us time and money. Our project is almost done, and it's on time!!!! We are very happy and excited, and I am sure we will enjoy CSCI's great work!Overall, Steve and CSCI team are honest and hard working, meet the commitments, and they build and maintain trust. We really can't ask for more! We for sure will work with CSCI for our next projects.

Steve and his team were friendly, responsive, and professional. Their work was very high quality, and Steve took responsibility if problems arose. Most importantly, we always felt like their pricing was fair. Highly recommended.

Summary: Reasonable pricing, excellent quality, customer-focused, on-time and on-budget.Steve and his team at CSCI construction are by far the best contractors we've worked with: Hire them if you can.Steve and his site boss, Hector, listened to us during the entire process, quickly taking care of any issues, and producing high quality results.  They clearly take pride in their work, and their experience gives you confidence that they know what they are talking about.  We've been through other remodels and this one was far from difficult: it was an enjoyable process to watch the changes take place. Our project was a complete remodel of a 2,400 square foot two-story house in San Jose, adding a 220 sq ft master suite and bedroom.  We moved the location of the kitchen in the house, added a master bathroom, added a laundry room and bumped out the master bedroom to add the square footage.  We remodeled and updated every room on the ground floor of the house, about 2000 square feet, replaced windows, smoothed the walls, moved structural members and remodeled the first floor bathroom. The design was by our architect, Michelle Kusanovich (also an excellent choice), and Steve and his team worked well with her, implementing her design exactly as specified, down to the tile pattern in the bathrooms.Steve mostly uses his own employees, and they are very talented and hard-working.  The subcontractors he did use were knowledgeable and did good work, each making sure that we were satisfied before moving on.We lived on the premises in the family room and upstairs while Steve and his team did their work, and they were respectful of our privacy, had a set work schedule, and showed up when they said they would. They curtained off all the living areas from the work areas with plastic. They never started before 8am, and were done by 5pm.  They did work on Saturdays sometimes, but asked first. We had one other bid for our contract, from another contractor that our architect trusted (they had done several jobs together), and CSCI was both two months shorter (four months instead of six), and $20K less.  We picked CSCI based on our positive interactions with Steve, and the detailed nature of his bid, but were a little nervous about his time estimates.  We need not have been worried: they finished (final inspection complete) exactly four months from when they started, just as promised. As for budget, Steve has a great way of making things fit into his original estimate: we upgraded the interior doors and replaced the front door, and that was in the budget, so no extra cost.  He did have to add to his bill once, but only because of large cracks in the slab, and they had to jackhammer out the slab and re-pour before we could proceed (they were hidden under the floor, so we didn't know about it before the project started). In short, we really think you'll be impressed with Steve, Hector, and their team.  They have a great work ethic, and provide really excellent service.

Steve Nam at CSCI did a fantastic job in finding the leak in our roof.  My home was built relatively recently at 10 years ago, so we were so dumbfounded why the roof was leaking.  They found the source to be a nail hole and not enough overlap in the roofing paper, so that the water from our tremendous rains were seeping through.   He diagnosed it and sent the roofing crew as soon as the rains let up.  They sealed it up and stucco'ed the outside just in time for another set of storms.  He monitored the leak from the inside of the home where he had to cut the drywall and used an infrared machine to see if there was any more leaking.  After confirming that all way dry, they sealed up the drywall.  He took his time and made sure the problem was fixed properly.  He also painted and matched it up perfectly.  He is very trustworthy and a good person to work with.

Steve is a joy to work with and we highly recommend him for your project. We started the renovation process by interviewing 4 different contractors and Steve stood out from our very first meeting. As first time home buyers, we were new to a lot of this and we are so glad to have found Steve. Steve is super easy to work with and he provided a ton of guidance on the various things along the way. Steve also helped some of the small jobs along the way, very conveniently, without having to redo the quote for the entire project (Remodel bath, Add Laundry room, Remodel garage, Redo plumbing, etc). Steve not only focused on the project at hand, but improved various things in the house to make it more comfortable for us to live in. He has a fantastic team of workers, who finish work on time and leave the place spick and span everyday. I'd highly recommend meeting up with Steve before finalizing on a contractor.
