Sina and his team worked with us to design and build both our front and backyard. The results exceeded our expectations and the team worked patiently during COVID and through a challenging permitting process with LA City. The team was professional and always prompt. The pricing was fair and transparent, and communication was great. The project was large overall so we worked together with Design Scapes for almost one year. I had high hopes for working with Sina, particularly based on the reviews here. He has a nice design aesthetic and I liked how he moved through the process. He seemed very professional. Among other things, we were designing our front yard fence adding stone cap around the top. I assumed that I would have choices for the stone, and yet when I asked Sina, he seemed put off that I would want more than 1 choice, and said he would send me to a stone yard. I was surprised that I would be sent alone to make such a big decision, but I brushed it off. His team began the project and hit a road bump on the first day. The earthquake sensor was triggered on our gas line due to the work they were doing, and unfortunately needed replacing. Nothing major, and while his team did try to fix the issue, we eventually had a plumber come fix it. I suggested we split the modest cost. The next day, instead of discussing that he disagreed with me and finding a new solution, he showed up with a check and canceled the job. They mostly completed one task (irrigation), though didnt even fully do that. I texted and called him later to ask that he please complete the irrigation by installing the controls and not have irrigation lines sticking out of the ground. I never heard back. To make matters worse, I realized a few weeks later that a plumbers wrench was missing. I need to change our home water filter and, since this was where his team was working, they may have accidentally taken the wrench. No big deal, but upon texting Sina to get the wrench back, he, yet again, never got back to me. The long and short - I have no doubt the work would have been well done, but working with Sina proved far more difficult than it was worth.

My partner and I purchased a hilside home two years ago that sits against a large, steep slope. Behind the house we have a patio that backs up to a tall retaining wall, with several thousand square feet of steep hillside terrain beyond that. Sina and team built out spiral stairs to the top of the retaining wall, and fabricated a large staircase that allows us to access the top of the lot, where we've built out terraces for a garden and seating area with a fire pit. We've transformed what was an inaccessible dirt pile into an area that we use daily. The views from the top of our property are fantastic, and we're grateful to Sina for helping us design such a beautiful, functional space. We now go up there pretty much every night to enjoy the sunsets. Sina was responsive and easy to communicate with, and provided detailed renderings that allowed us to see exactly what the final product would look like. He was transparent about budget and schedule throughout, and responded to any small hiccups with constructive solutions. His employees and subcontractors were courteous and professional, and mindful of our neighbors. I recommend Sina and Design Scapes without hesitation, and look forward to working with them again in the future.
