Dear Martina, Sorry we did not meet your expectations. We just put the new couch in two hours before you checked in. We did not think it would be too big for the room. We will check it out again today. Also, you booked the junior suite with no kitchen. Our family suites do have full kitchens & more than twice the size of the junior suites. The taxes in Santa Monica are quite expensive which hikes up the pricing. We are still far below any hotel in Santa Monica and proud to offer free parking. As for cleanliness our cleaning staff have been with us for nearly 40 years. We showed them your review and they are sorry to hear it was not to your standards. The terra-cotta tile sometimes look rugged. However, they are clean, but just need a new seal every so often. I also checked the filters in the air conditioning and the vents in the bathroom which both were clean. Therefore, I am unsure where the mildew smell would be coming from, unless it is due to the fact that we are only two blocks from the beach. Hadyou brought any of this to our attention during your stay? We would’ve tried to make things better for you. Vielen Dank, The Metz Family
