I've worked with Richard Sax and other attorneys in CA and other states for many years. The folks at the Law Offices of Richard Sax are fantastic. They did all the work to convert my business to a LLC when I moved out of California. I choose this law firm because I had 100% trust in them and knew they would get it done right. Two days after my request it was complete. You are truly the best!

Richard may have been a good attorney once - after hiring him, it is my opinion he doesn't care about his clients. In fact, everything in this review is my opinion, personal feelings or facts of the case.I have a person who is using restraining orders to stalk me. In desperation to recover my life, I reluctantly sought a protective order. I approached Richard and said I only want to go through with this if he was certain we can win. He said he was pretty sure we could. I was coming out of 2 years extreme PTSD and so gathered up my remaining savings and paid his retainer. After years of trauma, it was a huge step for me just to be in the courtroom again with my abuser. We agreed to hiring a process server, but then his office called and insisted I find a friend to serve process or we would miss the filing date. What! I did find a friend, but it was high anxiety for me, and we never did get my assailant served. When I informed Richard of this, he accused me of wrongdoing - insinuating I'd wanted to be "near her." My first red flag for sure. Should have fired him then and there. Then he refused to become familiar with the prior case - no amount of cajoling could convince him to be, well, be prepared. In the end, Richard not being conversant cost us dearly. In the courtroom, he was a complete greenhorn. My stalker took my claims and cut and pasted them and filed her own restraining order - using my exact claims! I wanted to talk to Richard about this and he was unreachable - yes, even his office apparently doesn't know how to reach him. When he finally responded, he said nothing new here - of course, it was what I'd written! My stalker ran at me on the beach screaming and cussing. I couldn't prove it, then lo and behold, she brought in video which did. The video showed she was lying in wait and still images from the video further contradicted her own Declaration. Twice! She lied. Richard couldn't win with that.My own witness described being harassed by my stalker twice, including being followed out of the market and, fists raised, spittle flying, feared for her own safety and underwent six weeks of panic attacks. A County Supervisor's wife, no less! Richard couldn't win with that.My ex's argument for blowing through a stop sign attempting to hit me was that there were places I could have pulled over. What? She did not deny the violent attack with a motor vehicle. When I stated that I did just that - pull over, her own attorney was flabbergasted, and repeated his claim that I could have pulled over.Richard specifically told me he'd won restraining orders just because someone gave someone else the bird, the one-fingered salute. I personally find it aggressive and yet my stalker proudly admitted it. Richard did not win.Richard wandered up to the judge and presented his bill as if he'd won the case, out of order, a full 25% over his rate. The whole courtroom seem embarrassed as this doddering man was fully out of step with the proceedings.Apparently, my ex and I were in the same restaurant together. There were no restraining orders, I never approached her because I never saw her, completely normal behavior. However, my ex describes her own hyper-fixated behavior taking photos of me backwards over her shoulder, which photos completely contradict her own claims. Judge said she gasped when she saw me, and therefore deserves, even though her testimony and declarations contradicted, a 5 year restraining order against me! Unbelievable. I am further entrapped by this person I only dated 1.5 years and want nothing more than to be left alone. He failed to object, despite being asked, to the other attorney's highly inflated fees, costing me an additional $5,000 when I was suffering from PTSD so badly I couldn't earn income. One word - object - would have been sufficient. Then Richard's own invoice came in three times over his quote, despite there being no change in scope, venue, or the anticipated contention of the opposing party. Not to mention he did less work than promised, as he was unconversant.Even though entitled to copies of all exhibits Richard first failed to request real-time, and then refused to get them for me. Basic stuff like that.I feared I may have to move from my home. Richard quipped, "I think we did a pretty good job." Really? What do you think happened? That's right, she continues to stalk me. There's nothing I can do, I'm disabled. I'm afraid, terrorized, afraid to go out into the I have been left alone this year - mostly, anyway - and have begun to heal finally. Can finally get my head around what happened and write this review. It is my view that Richard Sax does not seem to care about his clients, his cases, his profession. He struck me as lazy, uninformed, unresourceful, and unskilled. He got me into far worse territory than I was. Highly recommend avoiding -

To all of those who are reading my review they are from my personal experience with this law firm. Everything stated in my review are my personal feelings and my facts. I wouldn't never state anything falsely for the mere fact that I could be sued by this LAWYER. I in fact was not fired by this firm. I expressed in writing that I no longer wished to have Mr. Sax represent me. I in fact had to find another lawyer represent me because Mr. Sax went against my wishes to have a quick one day hearing and state that to the judge. He in fact agreed with the opposing lawyer to a 5 day trail. I did not harass your law firm nor was I rude. That would make absolutely no sense to be that way towards someone who you are paying to help you. Don't mistake asking questions about your work and billing for harassment.  There were no threats in email or slander. Upon speaking with legal shield I was informing you of what they told me my actions should be.Your statement of my behavior is what got me in this legal matter in the 1st place is factually untrue. This legal matter initially had to do with someone wanting to break a legal and binding agreement and lie about it to get out of it. Your office knows that and how dare you and sinuate and state otherwise.I never stated I "knew everything" to Mr. Sax.. He made a statement to me and I told him that I knew exactly what the opposing side was doing.  Essentially I was agreeing with his statement. If in fact I knew everything I would not need a lawyer. Nobody knows everything! Sitting in the back of the  courtroom  observing Mr. Sax agree  with the opposing side after telling me if he had it his way he would motion for a one day quick hearing seems to me like he rolled over. I never said you over charged me $1400. I stated on 3 separate bills that I was over charged for time that I can prove was not used. And it made me uncomfortable to think that maybe your office overcharged me for things that I could not prove. I made no false statements these were my observations. In fact after court upon trying to speak with him about his actions he was very agitated, angry and shaking. I was standing right in front of him observing his behavior.Mr. Sax wanted to look into my insurance company to see if they covered this matter. I told him that I would look into it. I would not pay your office to do that. He in fact stated to me that insurance companies used to cover matters like this but most no longer covered these matters. This is not the 1st time your office has thrown it out there that you did some work for me for free. Why on Earth would you work for free? That doesn't merit and answer it's rhetorical. You're office never provided any information in writing on what you did for free. I read all the other Yelp reviews. I have also had a couple of the Yelp reviewers contact me and tell me about their experience with your office as well.
