I always recommend this group of people to anyone who needs help with their dental needs. Dr Campbell and everyone on his team have always treated me with the upmost care and respect. They also have programs that have help with payments. Plus they accept Denti-Cal.

More often than not I have either been hung up on after being "placed on hold", sent to the voicemail of an inappropriate recipient (mid-sentence), or (if I get lucky) told that I may speak to a provider over the phone in 3 months after very clearly describing an acute ailment that requires a physical examination. In one experience, and after months of having an incorrectly filled out MRI order continuously faxed to Marin General, I had to call (it took weeks to reach anyone) and walk someone at Marin City Health and Wellness (MCHW) through how to properly fill out an MRI order. I had to advocate for myself fiercely to be seen by a specialist for a highly suspicious, and debilitating tumor in my dominant arm. I ended up having to pay out of pocket for an MRI, as well as call in favors from out-of-network providers in order to attempt to rule out cancer while waiting for MCHW to provide adequate care. After 30 phone calls and 7 e-mails over the course of 3 months (all documented), MCHW finally placed a referral order, to the wrong specialist (only dealing with brain tumors). Luckily, I knew to ask questions when told I needed an MRI of my brain prior to being seen. After diligently researching specialists, and working with an insurance case manager, I eventually found an appropriate specialist to perform the necessary surgery. Had my tumor been cancerous, the negligence displayed by MCHW would have negatively contributed to my health outcome - negligence like this kills people. Care and all coordination of services here (from making appointments, to receiving lab results, to coordinating imaging and specialist appointments) fall short every single step of the way, consistently (this is not the first time). In a setting wherein demand is high, resources are low, and people's lives are on the line - there is absolutely no excuse for being so unorganized as well as displaying such incompetence. Better training and support needs to be provided for ancillary staff, and healthcare providers need to take accountability for their actions or inactions that affect patient outcomes. This patient population (which includes me) is not being adequately taken care of in Marin County - certainly not at this location.
