I went to Chuck Sloan a few years back and I wish I had just held onto the money I paid for lackluster advice. It was my first time working as a freelancer and I was nervous about how to file my taxes, I ended up w/ Marta. After a consult she lead me to the receptionist to make my next appt for the following night (after work hours). The receptionist said she had openings during the day but Marta insisted on the after 5p time. I later found out I was charged for her overtime hours, which I was not told beforehand. Beware of hidden costs!

They're over-booked and churning out too many returns, which makes them susceptible to mistakes (which you are ultimately on the line for). Last year they blamed their software for a miscalculating mistake that led them to have to amend tax returns already filed. No responsibility taken. No customer service calls. No discounts. Just an email on Friday the weekend before taxes are due Monday with instructions for fixing your own taxes and mailing them off yourself.Otherwise Chuck is arrogant and loves to hear himself talk. Go somewhere else. Overpriced and not worth the risk.

I had used this accountant agency for several years without issue: this year, though, their cost DOUBLED for the same return ($500!).  We're talking a simple tax return here -- no corporations, no LLCs, no partnerships, nothing complicated -- but there was definitely the feeling of price-gouging in the air.  I'll definitely be going elsewhere next year -- so they just lost a 6-year client.

I have had a terrible experience with this company. Most notably TRICIA LEE PASCOE. She is rude, disorganized and unprofessional. I got a bill from the IRS and was confused because they had issued a refund for the amended return that Tricia prepared. When I contacted her she was she would call me later to schedule an appointment because I wanted to have her take a look at the return she prepared as well as do the current year's taxes. After several weeks I reached out to her again. She was very unprofessional and refused to speak with me. Claiming she was sick. But it had been several weeks and she never indicated that she was sick before. She said she was busy. When I explained to her that she what she input was wrong on the tax from, she accused me of not giving her the correct information. She wrote several notes on the forms that I presented to her and didn't want to admit that she messed up my return. I would highly recommend going elsewhere to get your taxes done. I contacted the IRS and they explained that Tricia had input a figure that was not on the 1098 form that she was given.  When I explained to her what the IRS said, she then tried to say that I hadn't given her that form. Which still makes no since because still should have put $0 if she didn't have the 1098 form. There is no where in my documents where the figure she input was given to her. She refused to talk to me or help me figure out the problem and became irate and defensive when questioned. I would not recommend this company nor her services.

My accountant has screwed up my life with his mistake. I won't name him but he screwed up my taxes to the point that his initial filing said I owed almost $10,000 to the IRS this past year. It turned out that they actually owed me and this became apparent when he did my amendment. But since the IRS is behind, I'm having to pay the taxes from the original return. When I reached out to the office for help dealing with the IRS I got nothing. As someone else here said, no emails, no support, nothing. On top of that, when I reached out to the accountant himself about the issue he was only vaguely apologetic while mostly curt and defensive, acting very annoyed that I was contacting him.  Dude, this was your mistake. I'd be understanding if they could at least advise me now and perhaps show some compassion instead of ghosting me. I went here for about 6 or 7 years and everything was fine until this.  Now I'm paying over $300 a month for a misfiled tax form and they won't help at all! It's unreal how unprofessional and uncaring they are! Oh yeah and they didn't even offer any kind of refund. Avoid at all costs!
