Visiting the store Is fun; my wife purchased an Engstler mechanical Clock for me; it was a childhood dream to own one. Im happy And grateful I got it. A couple of things, however, I was somewhat nave about The quality. I expected more quality for the price point, and it being a black forest mechanical cuckoo clock. First, The handpainted dancers Did not have much detail or care in the painting of them. The wooden shutters Showed excessive glue runoff and then stained over. In addition, there are other spots of glue. Given that this is handcrafted, that is expected, but because its a Black Forest clock, I had a higher expectation of quality. Overall, I enjoy this very much. It is a keeper, but just putting it out there for the next person; before paying over $1000 for a piece such as this, look closely and pay attention to the detail. I hope this review helps future cuckoo clock owners.
