        When the parking lots closer to the Main Street are the first to fill up, this is definitely the spot to go. It was near empty at 10:30am on a Saturday morning, but it was full up with people waiting on the side at 1:30pm. So I recommend people to get here early.

        Free open parking that is available only a short walk from downtown Solvang. The parking lot has a dedicated area for dogs to go to the bathroom and they provide doggie bags for you to clean up. You will have to find a trash can when walking out of the parking lot depending on what direction you go. The lot has limited shade. I would recommend backing into your parking spot so you can quickly pull out and get going. When tourist bombard Solvang it can get pretty hectic and tight with folks waiting for and looking for any place to park.
