Its hard to find words to convey just how deeply grateful I am to Dr. Atoian. Ive got a lot to say, but the bottom line is that going to Limbic Medical for ketamine therapy has changed my life for the better. Coming here for ketamine therapy has cured me of depression, anxiety and complex PTSD. I was freed from these symptoms after the very first treatment, and they have not returned. I did a lot of research into ketamine therapy for the past year before making the decision to move forward. From what I understand, chronic depression and anxiety can cause some of the neural pathways in your brain to stop working effectively. Its almost like the brain, in a constant state of fear, turns parts of itself off in order to protect itself. Some of the neurons just stop firing, they shrink and turn off. And when this happens, a person can get stuck in a never-ending loop of negative thinking or behavior. For me, that manifested as constant self-criticism, anxiety and negativity. I read a variety of articles about the topic, and was intrigued when the FDA approved a form of ketamine as a treatment for depression. If youre curious, go on YouTube because there are tons of helpful videos about it. In particular, watch Dr. Andrew Hubermans video about ketamine therapy. Once I knew that IV ketamine therapy was the route I wanted to try, the next step was finding a clinic. I happened to meet Dr. Atoian when he was the anesthesiologist for my husbands dental surgery, and during that time I discovered that he specialized in ketamine therapy at his office. I was immediately curious so I asked a ton of questions, and was impressed by his knowledge and passion about the topic. Not long after that I called his office to inquire about doing ketamine therapy, and was happy to discover that his wife Suzy works at the office. Suzy is not only professional and very knowledgeable, but was also kind and patient with me as I asked many more questions about the process. I still looked into various other clinics in Los Angeles, but Dr. Atoian kept sticking in my mind because I saw firsthand how great he was with my husband during his surgery. Limbic Medicals office in Toluca Lake is perfect for this kind of treatment. Its feels clean and professional but not sterile or cold. With three treatment rooms and a front waiting room, it has a clean, modern, zen energy that immediately made me feel safe. To be clear, during this treatment you may have psychedelic experiences. The therapeutic dose of ketamine seems to require that you receive enough so that you have these visions, but not so much that you fall asleep in an anesthetized state. During the sessions I saw many visions in my mind that felt incredibly real. These were awe-inspiring, beautiful, insightful and incredible, things that helped me release years of critical thought and trauma. But they were also intense and so you should be prepared that this may occur. I'm so grateful that I decided to move forward with this treatment, and I would recommend it to anyone dealing with any kind of depression or anxiety. I am still in awe of how happy, calm, safe, and content I feel on a daily basis. I was initially hesitant to write this review because sadly, there is still a stigma around mental health and I think some people are quick to judge it. I think thats the reason that I dont see more reviews for the business, despite the fact that it was busy every time I was there. But there is so much unnecessary suffering in the world that I thought it would be more helpful to share. Please know that you do not have to suffer with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ideation or be haunted by past traumas. Ketamine therapy has been a huge blessing in my life and it can be for you too.
