I have two separate experiences from two completely different companies. The first was the bigger "local" flooring company Basset. I walked in to four guys sitting around at their desks joking around. Not one got up as I browsed. Finally, I walked up to them to ask about refinishing my 3000 sqft oak floor. Started to ask technical questions. They circled around stammering, giving me vague indirect answers. Finally, they said it's "just not worth it," and it would be best to replace it all. So I asked about how much is a new floor? They quoted "35-50 dollars per foot installed". Still they acted uninterested in taking my information. Maybe they quoted high to run me off? Maybe that's just how they run their business? I dont know. I left after browsing a little longer. Samples were poor quality and I still wanted to keep my solid oak floors. Second experience. I called Taylor Flooring and explained my situation. He gave me a time the next day to come out to take a look. Derick showed up when he said, and when I asked the same questions I asked the other "company" he quickly and eloquently answered them to my delight! He then told me that my floors were still beautiful and full of life but just needed a little love. Quoted me a fraction of the cost a new floor would cost from Basset. Needless to say I hired him. Derick scheduled me, showed up on time, and did an absolutely gorgeous job bringing my floors back to life!!! I would never recommend that other company. They don't care, they aren't local, and only want you to buy cheap products for premium prices. Keep your business with this true local company.

I hired Taylor Wood Flooring to install wood floors throughout my entire house: three floors and two flights of stairs. Derick showed up on schedule, as promised. When a failure in the flooring product was discovered all work stopped to discuss the problem with me. Derick suggested a plan of action and gave great advice for replacement flooring. Derick also went to bat for me at Bassett which sold me the poor product. Derick then rescheduled the installation as soon as the new flooring was available and even picked it up for me. I could not be happier with the new flooring: solid quality flooring and excellent quality installation. Derick is an old school professional; he does the job right the first time with ease and great attention to detail. He is attentive and considerate, organized and always left the job clean. The job was finished on time and even offered valuable advice for my dog's comfort on the new wood stairs. All that and his installation price was so much lower than the competition! Phenomenal results! Called Derick @ Taylor Flooring Truckee. He came out quickly. Gave me a great price to install hardwood floors compared to 3 other estimates. Job was done in a timely, professional, clean manner, and he came back a few months later for a check up. Detail oriented kind of guy! Can't recommend him highly enough!!!
