Holiday Inn Express Van Nuys, an IHG Hotel

After remodeling, the bathroom becomes smaller but the other area looks larger and comfortable. $8 parking fee from March 2024.

I have no problems with the room itself, and the location is extremely convenient for the job we are in the Van Nuys area for (not the best location if youre in the area vacationing and want restaurants and attractions you can walk to). Unfortunately I dont recommend staying here unless you can afford to pay for a room twice, or at least can afford for the room charge to be pending twice on your credit card. Luckily my credit limit and available balance allowed for two $850 charges to be pending as of right now (I was called down to the desk to run my card again, despite the first charge from yesterday showing as pending on my account), but what if I didnt have the available credit due to the first pending charge of $850? He seriously told me Id be asked to use another card to pay again. And for my trouble of being called down to the desk to deal with this at 8 at night when I have to be up by 3:30 in the morning for work, I was offered. Get this: a free bottle of water. A $.69 bottle of freaking water. No future free night, no bonus points to my member account, nothing even close to making up for this debacle. And I will still probably have to call my credit card company later after the charges clear my account to dispute the second charge. Unless youre okay with this kind of headache, avoid this IHG staffed with incompetent front desk staff. And for the record, he claimed it was because the woman who checked me in was new- she definitely was new, because another male employee was standing there walking her through every step of checking us in, including running my credit card the first time.
