Denise Hilliard, MD

Dr Hilliard quite possibly saved my life. I had been to 5 other doctors and various specialists for my symptoms of Long Covid. She is very well researched, kind, compassionate and just goes the extra mile. I was scared and in so much pain before starting treatment with Dr. Hilliard. I was starting to think I must be crazy if those other doctors couldn't find anything. Not at all- the other doctors were poorly informed and simply disinterested in complex conditions. A doctor who listens is worth their weight in gold. I have a long road ahead of me but I am already feeling much better physically. I feel hope now that I found a supportive doctor who actually wants to help me. Intention makes a BIG difference.

Dr. Hilliard is not only professional but also kind. She takes the time to listen to me and any health concerns I have had. I have a hard time going to doctors do to my anxiety but I feel comfortable going to her.

I have been going to Dr. Hilliard for some years now. I find her very thorough, compassionate and professional. She listens to what I have to say. I have always had a very positive experience every time I have been to see her. Time spent in the waiting room is usually no longer than 5 minutes, and her staff is very nice and accommodating!

My 80-year old mother has suffered from severe fibromyalgia for more than 10 years, refusing to see a doctor or take pain meds. Then about 6 months her pain became unmanageable. I finally got her to agree to see a doctor. I explained her resistance to doctors and drugs to Dr. Hilliard's staff to make my mom's visit as smooth as possible. My mom's first two visits she didn't see Dr. Hilliard and the reasons for the doctor's absence were odd. The last visit Dr. Hilliard forgot to sign a prescription and forced my mom to wait in the waiting room for nearly a half an hour for her to finish with the next patient. My mom begged and begged staff to just slip her the prescription to get it signed so she could get it filled as she was in so much pain. They refused. On Mom's visit to Hilliard yesterday, the doctor scolded her for trying to get the prescription signed, saying that rules have to be followed. Then Hilliard proceeded to say my mom didn't look like she was in pain and she couldn't be giving her pain meds at the level she requires. Hilliard did no physical examination of my mother, but sat at a distance proclaiming she didn't look in pain. My brother was present in this appt and said that Hilliard spent a good 10 minutes belittling my mother and being sarcastic about her pain. Clearly Hilliard has little interpersonal skills and no understanding of the extent of pain fibro causes. I do not recommend this woman as a caring doctor. If you need someone who cares about you personally look elsewhere. Illness causes enough suffering, you don't need a doctor that causes mental anguish on top of it.
